Today I finished off my PowerPoint, and started to properly think about ideas for my project. After completing my PowerPoint, I think it has become clear to me that working with the cinematography of films, and using colour in ways to tell stories is something I definitely want to research. I’m not sure where that is where my final piece will lead to, but it is definitely a start for my ideas.
Euphoria, the TV show, is a starting point for me because as well as cinematography, the camera movements used in the show is something which really interests me. I will make a separate blog post going into the research of Euphoria.
I made a mind map which also made it pretty clear to me that that is where my thoughts lie at this current moment in time.
Through creating the mind map, the thought of maybe using photography and film together is something which could be an idea; as photographing the train at the train station still remains the project which I am most proud of. This way I could show the cinematography of my film through stills as well as through the actual film.
Colour grading is where my last project went wrong, and I’m still really disappointed about how it turned out, so I want this project to try and improve my colour correction skills. I don’t want to rush it, I want to do a really good job at it.
Feedback:
I had my feedback tutorial with Joel and he gave me my grades for Stage 2. I also told him about my ideas for this project and he said to make sure I don’t create a too closed of an idea straight away, as I will be limited when it comes to progressing forward with the project. I’m really proud of the grade I got in Stage 2, so I don’t want my grade to be affected by being too close minded with this project.
I will start my research on Thursday and try to discover new people and ideas for this project.
