Today I went to B&Q and went to their paint samples section and took nearly every single colour they had.

I need to get more creative with my ideas and I think that this is definitely a way I can get a bit hands on with idea creation.
By changing the format of my work and doing something physical and arty rather than technical and all online, might be a way that I can come up with different ideas.
I put all of the colours out in front of me and then chose a genre of film, grabbed the colours I thought would suit the genre best, and then stuck them all onto a piece of paper, along with annotations of why I chose the specific colours, and reasonings behind it.

By doing this I created multiple different collages showing different genres of films and the colour schemes I chose for each one.
The process helped me to think more in depth about the colours used in films, as if I were actually colour grading, designing or storyboarding for my own. When I finally start to storyboard my ideas for my film, I will definitely refer back to these collages I have made and use them for inspiration.

Conclusion:
Overall, getting hands on with a different format of work definitely helped to become more creative. The task itself was fun to do and I will take into consideration getting a bit more physical and arty when it comes to work, as only using my laptop to work can get a bit tiring and boring after a while.
