Creating masks in After Effects

The final scene i want to create in my film is my main character looking in the mirror, and his reflection holding up a knife in a sadistic/creepy way. To do this i plan on layering both of the videos i have taken (one where he is holding up the knife, and another where he steps up to the mirror and looks in it) on top of each other and mask out the mirror so it reveals the video below it.

Problems i need to tackle:

I didn't film both of my scenes using a tripod, and instead just tried to hold the camera still in-between making the scenes. This means the videos don't line up perfectly, which is frustrating because i now need to mask out individual frames throughout the video, and almost somewhat rotoscope it. Hopefully i will be able to do this, and still manage to make it look scary.

I have watched youtube videos on how to create masks on after effects (i feel more familiar and comfortable with editing in after effects, and since it is more of an animation software compared to premiere pro, i think it will be easier to edit it in after effects instead). After effects also has a rotoscope brush tool which might come in handy with the effect i am trying the create

Here are the links of a couple videos i watched:

Below are the two videos i'm going to be editing, as you can see the videos don't line up, nor are they still (due to me not using a tripod), so i just hope i will still be able to create the effect i want.

Here's some notes i made on creating masks in After Effects:
