Animation was used in the war as a form of propaganda, to get the public to understand and know things easier, and in a more fun way. Another way animation has been used to spread information, is through Britain's first full length animated film Animal Farm, which used farm animals to represent the Russian revolution. Animation has also been used to persuade people; being used to educate people about the NHS when it was first introduced. Animation has been used to create short films, using different characters, made from paintings, drawings, clay models, etc. For example, Chuck Steel: Night of the Trampires, Morph, and Wallace & Gromit.
