Nan Goldin has been a photographer that has always inspired me. She is known for her work associated around LGBT bodies, friendship, and moments of intimacy, but her work inspires me most because of how real and raw the photos are. When looking at her photography it's almost like you can just jump into the photos and join the people there. They don't look set up, and in fact that's the art about Nan Goldin's photography, in the fact that she takes the photo in the moment, and doesn't change anything about the surroundings. It conveys the emotions of the photo a lot better, as they are real. Most of the subjects in the photographs she takes aren't posing, but are instead going about their daily life and Goldin captures their actions in the moment.

The idea of creating photographs that you can connect with and share feelings about is what inspires me and is something that I would want to integrate into my own work.
