Today i was finishing making the audio on my film. I think i underestimated how much effort it would be to create the effect i wanted and present it in an effective way. I got a bit stuck when trying to come up with ideas on how to successfully make my film scary, and I have little experience with editing audio, so i decided to watch a few short horror films on youtube for inspiration:

She Knows

I like the use of the piano music in the background as a constant throughout the film, mixed with silent scenes, fully focusing on the 'real life' sounds. From 3.44 till the end was my favourite part, as i think the sound is significantly effective in creating the horror like effect and makes the overall film creepy.

However i will be taking inspiration from the scene from 2.20-2.40, and use that idea of sound into the last scene of my film.

Man On A Train

I particularly liked this films use of no sound to create tension and fear, it makes it seem more realistic and uncomfortable for the viewer to watch, and i think it works well for the effect the director was trying to achieve.

In my film, the tension music will increase when the scenes of my character being followed shows, to emphasise that he is in danger, and that the audience too, should fear whoever is following him.

To do this i've layered the different audios i downloaded, fading them in and out by creating keyframes, and editing with the volume of the clips.
