Today in class we watched two weird films called 'The Necromancers' and 'The Man on Platform One' and we were given a brief to create our own versions of either one of the films, i decided to use 'The Man on Platform One'.
I created a storyboard in my notebook of the scenes in the film, but in a different order, to create a non linear narrative of the same story. I felt like it worked well for the film, and i wanted to use that inspiration for my own version of it.
I liked the directors use of camera angles in the man on platform one, so i wanted to recreate/incorporate similar ideas into my own interpretation. I also wanted to use zooms in my film to create an uneasy feeling, to link it to altered states. Using long tracking shots like Wes Anderson was also an idea i had.
We went to Chatham Station to film our scenes and i think they turned out well. On Thursday we will be editing the clips together in Premiere Pro to make our films, so i will be able to edit it then, and see how the final product will look.
